Remebrance gifts
Good morning and welcome back to another blog.
With the D-Day celebrations having recently passed, I thought it would be nice to explore remembrance a little further and take a look at some of the remembrance gifts on the market today.
A loving tribute
When someone we love passes away, and the standard practices have been completed, such as the funeral, wake and cremation, we can often be hit harder with loss. I most certainly experienced this with the loss of my mother in December 2022.
It seems that all the while we have plans to make and legalities to sort, we are kept afloat by a desperate sense of purpose and to fulfil their final wishes.
But what comes next?
For many of us, we muddle along, not really knowing where to turn, dreading annual celebration days and birthdays where painful memories come flooding back.
But what if we changed that? What if we made ‘remembrance’ a more positive concept?
An act of remembrance
If writing my book has taught me anything, it’s that there are so many moments in life that we should celebrate. If we have been fortunate enough to build precious memories with loved ones before they died, then we should actively document those memories and remember them.
Memories often pop into our head at random times, whether it be a TV commercial that sparks a memory with a loved one, or hearing an old song on the radio. If Heaven had a Postcode encourages you to document those memories, perhaps not for now, but maybe for the future and for those days that you simply can’t cope without them.
Documenting memories allows us a special place to reflect on those happier times and review those memories whenever we need to.
There is so much sadness in loss, but If Heaven had a Postcode might just make those sad times that much easier to process.
Remembrance gift options
There are many beautiful gifts on the market that focus on remembrance but nothing quite like If Heaven had a Postcode. However, if that’s not for you then why not consider some of the following;
Name a star after a loved one
Plant a tree
Build a memory box that you can open every year
Have a memorial bear made with your loved one’s clothing
Plant a memorial rose and add a remembrance plaque
Visit a special place with family and host a small gathering
Write water notelets and send them to sea with personalised messages (You’ll find one of these inside If Heaven had a Postcode but you can purchase small boxes full from www.scatteringashes.com
Have a piece of jewellery made with a loved one’s ashes
Add a page each year to a handmade memorial scrapbook
This beautiful book is a complete 88-page remembrance and memorial book, designed for both children and adults alike.
Unlike anything else on the market, this beautiful remembrance book is designed to be refillable, with 16 individual envelopes each containing something unique.
With prompts to write letters to loved ones, design Christmas cards, build ‘life lists’ and plant ever-growing seeds in their memory, If Heaven had a Postcode is the most unique and much-loved bereavement companion.
Parents will love the guided prompts throughout the book and the uplifting poems, children will love adding precious photos and enjoy the heartfelt illustrations of Robin and his friend as they journey through the seasons of life.
The ultimate book of remembrance for any dearly loved one.
