Self-care tips for Valentine’s Day
Welcome back to another blog and today I’ll be sharing with you some of my personal favourite self-care tips for Valentine’s Day so keep reading to find out more.
As a mother of one with another on the way, Self-care can often be something not on my list of priorities, but approaching my late 30s now, I have started to appreciate a bit easy and pampering self-care, so with it being valentine’s Day, what better day could I have picked to share some of favourite tips with you all.
Vitamin C
My biggest favourite for looking brighter and more energised (even on the days I don’t feel it) is vitamin C. Vitamin C is proven to give your skin a lovely glow and boost hydration levels. Grab a Vitamin C serum and pop it under your day and night-time moisturiser. I’m confident that you’ll notice a huge difference.
Facial tan.
If you’re anything like me then the moment the sun goes in, you’re left looking and feeling washed out and lacklustre. The one thing that makes me feel more alive and put together is a delicate mist of Facial tan a couple of times a week. If you have no time for messing around with gloves and tanning lotions why not give the St Tropez facial tan mist a go? You literally spritz over cleansed and moisturised skin before bed, and you’ll wake up with a delicate glow.
Stay hydrated.
Drinking more water is something we can introduce with minimal effort. Keeping hydrated can help with our energy and concentration levels not to mention plumping up the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and boosting weight loss. If you struggle to drink water add some fresh lemon or keep a bottle on your desk during the day. Start off with challenging yourself to drink 2 litres and then slowly increase it to 3.
Treat yourself to a Beauty box.
Before I treated myself to a beauty box subscription I really struggled with skincare. Everything within my age category always seemed hugely overpriced with little option to try a sample. That’s when I discovered beauty boxes. Most range from £10-£15 and you can subscribe to them monthly or buy then when you feel like a little treat. My latest purchase from Glossybox contained 5 good sized sample products to test out and it felt like a really nice little treat.
Write yourself a letter of gratitude.
One thing I realised when creating my flagship book If Heaven had a Postcode was how much introducing gratitude to my day has helped me in so many ways, not only has it helped me to process the loss of my mother at a young age but equally it has helped me to be thankful for things I had started to take for granted. You can find gratitude journals in abundance all over the internet but why not just writing a little letter of self-love. What have you done in your life that you are grateful for? Maybe focus on little achievements and little things you have around you such as pets, friends and creature comforts that make you happy. Proven to help naturally boost the mood, it really is a form of self-care that we should all do more of.
I hope you liked part one of my Self-care tips for Valentine’s Day blog. I’ll be back later in the week with more.
Happy Valentine’s Day, remember you are loved.
