Grief support books
If you’ve recently experienced the loss of a loved one or are trying to support a loved one dealing with bereavement then you may be looking for Grief Support books. So if you’d like a bit more information on where you can find them then keep reading
Online Marketplaces
Online marketplaces such as Amazon have a range of Grief support books from a variety of well known and self-published authors. Whether you’re looking for something like a bereavement journal or bereavement gift book then there is bound to be something that might suit your needs.
Local libraries
If you’re not sure what might be the right option, I would recommended trying your local library. With a wide variety of self-help books available there is bound to be a range that specialise in bereavement.
Audible
Something a little different but something that could really benefit many struggling with grief, could be an audio book. There are numerous options available on Audible and more often than not they offer a trial subscription too. Why not try something like; ‘Finding Meaning: The sixth stage of grief’ by David Kessler or ‘How to live when a loved one dies’ by Thich Nhat Hanh. The lovely thing about Audible is that they offer a 5 minute sample on their webpage. The other benefit to an audio book is that you can pop it on and just absorb what you need to without having to give it too much thought.
If Heaven had a Postcode
How could I not give another mention to my flagship book – If Heaven had a Postcode.
This more than a memorial book was born out of a journey of love and loss and within its contents I have utilised my background in Policing to help coach the reader through their grief journey and onto a journey of everlasting love and remembrance. Let it hold your hand when you need somewhere to help you unpack feelings and let it guide you through. Take part in subtle grounding exercises to promote positive healing and reignite precious memories with your loved one along the way. Find it here: www.ifheavenhadapostcode.com
NHS and TalkSpace
The NHS offer some bereavement book recommendations on their website. One of their recommendations is ‘Atlas of the Heart’ by Brene Brown which is described as a thoughtful and compassionate exploration of grief’s complexities. TalkSpace also offer a list of 15 therapist-approved books about grief, so it might be worth checking out this list as it’s likely to offer a larger selection with the added benefit of the books being Therapist-approved too.
I hope this has helped provide some advice on where you can find Grief Support books.
Check back in next week when I’ll be back with some more suggestions.
Do something nice for you this weekend!
