Legacy Keepsakes
In my last blog, I explored healing through memories which leads me on to today’s blog where I’ll be talking about Legacy Keepsakes.
Keep reading if you’d like more information on how to build your own legacy keepsake or suggestions on where to find support with how to build your own.
Dying wish
Since launching my brand ‘if Heaven had a Postcode’ I’ve had the privilege of meeting some incredibly inspiring people. One of whom, shared with me her lovely Mother’s story. It became apparent that before she died, she had shared her wishes with her family. Her ultimate wish was to ‘never be forgotten’. I think I probably speak for lots of us with younger children when I say that this is something that often also plays on my mind. When it’s my time to go, I want my children to remember me and to never forget the special times we had and the love I had for them.
Building a legacy
For many people faced with end-of-life care, there is the opportunity to build memory books for those left behind and write letters to loved ones for future milestones.
For those who don’t get that opportunity or understandably can’t face that task then we can rely on loved ones to build our legacy for us, but often when facing grief, it can be hard to know exactly where to start.
Memorial books
Blank or personalised Memorial books are a lovely way to ask friends and family to leave personalised reflections on the life of a loved one. Often these can spark special memories of times since past and encourage happy conversations and provide a place of comfort when we feel sad. As I’ve mentioned in my previous blog, Memorial books can be found on online Marketplaces such as Etsy and Not on the Highstreet.
If Heaven had a Postcode
Building a legacy of love and remembrance can be the ultimate gift that we give someone special after they pass away. Often buying flowers on birthdays and saving a seat at the Christmas table simply don’t seem ‘enough’.
If Heaven had a Postcode has been designed as the starting point in a journey of everlasting love and remembrance.
What makes this product so unique is the fact that it is designed to be refilled every year. Your loved one will never be forgotten and will always be spoken about. Write birthday cards and grown them into flowers, take trips to the sea and write letters to your loved one that are designed to dissolve in water, throw away negative emotions and keep those precious memories alive year after year. Involve children, partake in proven grounding techniques to hold your hand when times are hard and remember you are not alone. If Heaven had a Postcode really is a very special legacy keepsake and a good place to start if you are feeling a little lost.
